A week ago my friend Amy and I went to a scrapbooking crop called Think Pink - it was a breast cancer fundraiser. (Remember that post on packing for a crop? This is that crop!)
Because the theme was PINK I decided Amy and I needed funky shirts!
I started out with these pink ones from Michael's. I love their tee shirts for crafty project like this - I snagged the pair of these for $5!!
I'm kind in love with all those 50s/60s housewife pictures with the funny captions on them:
Then I imported it to Silhouette Studio and used the trace function to get something I could cut out.
I cut it out of my red vinyl to make a stencil. Normally to do shirts I'll use freezer paper as a stencil, but this design was fairly detailed, so I wanted to make sure it stuck in all the right places.
Using transfer paper I stuck it to the back of the shirts (make sure you put some cardboard in the middle of your shirt so that the paint doesn't bleed through)
Using black fabric paint and a foam brush I painted them.
And...
Ta-DA!
I also added the thought bubble and pink ribbon on the front.
Love the t-shirts and how you came up with the design.
ReplyDeletelove this shirt. I love those adds from the 50s with the captions!
ReplyDeleteCute!
ReplyDeleteLove the t-shirts -so cute! I was really into scrapbooking till a few months. My son is 14 it's really hard to get him to let me take pictures of him any where. Gone are the days when he begged me to take his picture.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by my blog to see my kitchen, I really appreciate you leaving me a comment. Have a great week.
They turned out great! My silhouette jealousy continues... =)
