Cubicle Makeover!

Now that I have a new job, I have another space to decorate!  (don't get the wrong idea though, I still have almost my whole house to decorate...)

I have a cubicle (as do most people in my office) AND because I'm the "only girl in the treehouse" (actual quote from one of the girls that works downstairs)  I think my cubicle could use some sprucing up!

Here's what my space currently looks like:

Because I'm crafty, this is just a little too industrial looking for me.  I'd like my cubicle to be more homey and relaxing for stressful days.

Keeping a high level of professionalism is important to me, and so I'm not going to go all out like this:

(don't get me wrong, I think this is incredibly cool and ambitious, but being young and new to the company, it's too bold for me at this time!)

Because there already is so much grey in my office, and I love the yellow-and-grey color combination, that's exactly where I want to go with this!

I pulled some stuff that I found around the internet together, and with my brand new premium membership at picnik.com created this cute little idea board for you to drool over.  Wait, maybe it's just me.  *wipes drool*

The large photo is from Simply Fun Stuff.  I fell in love with it because the reddish brown desk is close to the color of my desk, which is an element I have to work with.

I don't have photo credits for everything else (whoops!) but I'll talk you through them which might help you find them.

Top left: I LOVE the Keep Calm poster - that will be in a frame somewhere.  (these are everywhere!!)

2nd from top: This is a cute mouse pad from an Etsy seller found here.

3rd from top: I think this painting is also available on Etsy.  I don't have plans of having something big like this, but i like the branches, and the whole vibe of it.  I'm leaning towards something bird-y.

Bottom left: I'm pretty sure this photo is from CSN Stores.  I love the pattern, and obviously the colors.  I think I want kind of a bird/branch/damask/quatrefoil thing going on. I know, that's a lot of different stuff... I'll narrow it down (when I see what kind of scrapbooking paper is at my local shop!)

Bottom, 2nd from left: No clue where I found these clocks.  Not sure I need a clock in my space, probably better if I don't.  I do wear my watch to work (Citizen EcoDrive!) and the time is on my phone, and my computer, so it's not really necessary...

Bottom, 2nd from right: Cute storage boxes I think from the Container Store.  Super adorable.  I don't think I have a use for them now, but definitely something to keep in mind!

Bottom right: cute ornament I just happened to find.  I like the swirly damaskiness of it (shhh...that IS a word!)

So there you have it.

I plan to start with a cubicle survival kit, inspired by the one made by Angeline (if you haven't read her blog, I'd recommend it! I just started and definitely have not been disappointed!)

BUT because I can't do this without being crafty, I intend to make it look a little cuter, like this teacher gift from eighteen25.
Isn't this adorable?!?!

I can't wait to get started and share my progress with all of you!

  3. Hey?! Why don't you send a video of your current cubicle to contest factory's website? They're doing a pimp my cube out competition, and they would probably love your input. It's free, so why don't you take it to the next level sister..
