What the Heck Wednesday!

Alright, before I get going here I'm going to draw your attention to the new WTHW tab at the top of your screen.  This is a brand new feature (I'm still doing some tinkering with things on my blog) that will give you all the information you need about WTHW so that you can find it easily and it doesn't clutter up posts.

This new tab has information like:
1) What prize you could win (YAY!)
2) Who past winners were
3) What WTHW is all about

Please make sure you check it out when you get the chance.  I'm very excited because I have July's prize all picked out!!!

Last thing before I get to our WTHW item... I now have a button specifically for WTHW!!!  I would love if you put it on your blog somewhere to let other people know about it and so that more people have the chance to win!

Okay, so without further ado, this week's item:

That's right, an old telephone cord.  As you can see, one end is snipped off (I thought I had idea of what to do with it, then changed my mind!)

So leave a comment with what you think I should do with it, or what you would do with it!

Remember, every comment you leave with an idea gets you an entry into the draw.  More comments, more entries.  It's a 1:1 ratio!

Another way to enter?  Become a follower and leave me a comment to let me know! If you're already a follower, remind me in a comment please! (You do NOT get automatically entered if you're a follower.  You need to leave a comment!)

Can't wait to hear what you come up with!

Linking up to some of my favorite Wednesday parties!

  1. You could use it as a purse strap.

  3. Try painting it and using it as trim around a mirror or picture frame. :o)

  4. How about stretchy legs and arms for a clown.

  5. Ringlets for a doll or stuffed toy

  6. I always use to say my best friend had telephone cord hair, and would use it for a doll, like Tamara mentioned. Though, depending on how thick and intact the casing is, you could pull out the color coated wires and use them for jewelry making or other adornments on crafts.

  7. My first thought was a purse handle too, but not just plain. I would do a fabric tube to cover it, & use it as a base for the strap. That way it would look a little nicer & not just stretch out on you.

  8. Another idea would be to use it as a sippy cup “leash.” Cover it with fabric, but with the fabric longer than the unstretched cord (so it’ll scrunch up over the cord), then attach VELCRO or ribbon to each end to attach to the cup/bottle/whatever and the other end to the stroller/high chair/whatever. The fabric will keep it from stretching too far, but the cord will be a little stronger than using regular elastic.

  10. Oh this is an interesting game! First thing that comes to mind is to secure a bag in a wastebasket. I have a wastebasket that the garbage bag often slips down and keep thinking I need something easy to slip around the top of it to seceru it in place, but easy enough to take off and on so taking the garbage out and inserting a new bag isn't a problem.

  12. You could cut off individual rounds of the spiral, wrap them in fabric, yarn, or thread & have adjustable rings.

  13. Humm this could be a cute matt to a picture, take the glass out of a frame insert picture and then have the phone cord around.

  14. make a phone cord necklace :)
add a cute fabric flower on it to doll it up!

  15. How about spiraling it up and securing each spiral on top of the last with hot glue for a vase or pencil holder?

Fun blog! Found you on Sew Much Ado's linky party.

  16. Cut into about four lengths (different lengths) and glue spirals together to make solid hollow lengths. Then with floral wire, wrap around each length in the middle to make a row of individual bud vases that are all attached. You'd probably need a base to make it stand - if you have any small suction cups, they would make good bases glued into the bottom of each length of phone cord vase. Otherwise, some sort of object with a flat base and a peg to go into the base of the vases would work. It makes sense in my mind - but it's hard to explain it just right without drawing a picture!

  17. I am thinking you could cover it with fabric (or dye it) and use it as a purse strap.

  19. So this seems silly, but the first thing I thought of when I saw it was "dog leash". My dog is constantly exploring without permission :)

  20. You could add it to an "I spy" bag or tree

  21. How about using it as a garland of sorts and hanging things off of it?

  22. color it and twist it around a pair of flip-flops

  23. my kids would love to use it as a bungy cord for their toys.

  24. I agree with Bree! Put fabric around it! Thanks for linking up to Hoo's got talent and I can't wait to see what you do with this!

  25. I hate cords! So what you could do is use this on your cords to keep them all together and easier to hide.
