Alright, so it's a brand new month and that means a brand new prize for What the Heck Wednesday!
I'm super excited to announce that this month's prize is a $35 gift certificate to CSN Stores!! Unfortunately this giveaway is restricted to my readers in the US and Canada, but as far as I can tell, that's where the majority of my readers are from anyway. The great news this gift certificate is available at any of their 200+ online stores!
They sell everything! Wanna start yoga? Check out some of their fitness equipment! Looking for those cute new shoes? They've got those too! Searching for that perfect end table? They sell furniture too! There's so much exciting stuff to check out at CSN Stores!
You have all month to enter to win, starting today! For more details about What the Heck Wednesday, see the page above. If you know the drill, let's get started!!
This spring at a garage sale I bought 4 squares of cork, measuring about 12"x12" and about 1/4" thick. They're a little on the old side, so they look like they might be a bit brittle, but for 25 cents I thought I could figure something out!
To enter to win the $35 gift certificate:
1) Leave a comment letting me know what you'd do with the cork (1 ENTRY per comment, multiple comments welcome) Feel free to leave links to your own projects! I love seeing what you've made!
2) Become a follower, and leave a comment (or if you're already a follower, leave a comment to remind me) 1 ENTRY
That's it. Only 2 ways to enter this week. Remember, your chances of winning are great, last month we only had 8 comments. That's right, 8. So get started now and keep coming back every Wednesday for more chances to win!!
ooOOoo...what about trivets for the table? I hate when I'm serving a nice dinner, then have to slap down regular old potholders. Spray adhesive, fabric, spray sealer. Should be easy!

And I'm a follower, of course. :)
ReplyDeleteAlong the same lines as K, I'd cut them down into smaller pieces, cutesie them up and make coasters.
ReplyDelete& thanks for offering this giveaway - I follow too : )
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to make coasters by cutting my lat initial out of the center of the cork and putting some pretty fabric/paper/some kind of tile or something behind it. Kind of "reverse applique" - ish.
ReplyDeleteOR you could make some adorable cork necklaces. Just cut out some cute shapes and spray paint or leave plain and then attach a jump ring and run a chain through. Cute and easy.
If you have a reck room or an inclosed porch, put a nail through the center and hang them up next to each other to create a cork wall. Then hang a dart board in the center. Then when you play darts, it will be ok to miss. My mom did that for me in high school. It was great.
ReplyDeleteI follow.
ReplyDeleteMake a picture frame out of it. Then it doubles as a picture frame and a note holder.

ReplyDeleteI would glue these to something else to make coasters. cds, cross stitch images, photos...etc. They can be the base, but something more fun for the top.
ReplyDeletewhat about the obvious of a cork board? you can paint the cork, or add fabric or paper and use it to pin things to
ReplyDeletewrap a vase in cork and use rafia and other natural elements to create a fall center piece. fill the vase with fall flowers, branches, leaves, etc.
ReplyDeleteuse the cork as a stamp to add texture to projects. Put ink or pain on the cork, then lay a paper on top of it and brayer to transfer the pattern.
ReplyDeletei'd cut them up and cover a square flower pot.
ReplyDeleteIf you have four 12 X 12 squares, sounds like you could cut each one in four small square for coasters. Decorate them with stamps and give them out as Christmas presents.
ReplyDeleteAre you big on plants? You could use them as coasters for your plants.
ReplyDeleteYou could glue them to the bottom of iron pieces to prevent them from scratching other surfaces.
ReplyDeletePop them in a funky frame for a cute cork board.
ReplyDeleteI am now following you!
ReplyDeleteI have 4 that were just given to me! I am going to cover mine and put in frames for mini cork boards.

Or you could use them as the backing for tile coasters. They are really easy to do, you just mod podge scrapbook paper over some bathroom tile and put cork on the backs. Cheap too!
